Kapfenstein palace is situated in the heart of the "Vulkanland" amongst an extinct vulcano. The palace is embetted in an wonderful ambience. You have dreamlike views on the manifold surrounding landscape strutured in small units.
Especially from the terrace of the restaurant while eating regional delicacies and from the historical palace garden visitors can enjoy the sight.
 The Firing with wood chips in the wineyard supplies the palace hotel, the restaurant of Kapfenstein and the winecellary of Winkler-Hermaden. The wineyard Winkler-Hermaden is internationally known for its first class wines - predominantely the unique Olivin – named after the inclusions of the local stone. Wine tasting and cellar tours are available. Permanent exhibitions and various performances are also offered. The "Geo-Trail" takes you in unexpected landscapes of ancient times.
